A vaporizer is a complex piece of equipment that requires a lot of attention and care. Over time, there are two components that you need to change in your vaporizer: the coils and the juice. In this instance, the focus here is the coils. The coils are often a confusing thing for most vapers because they are uncertain of whether they must buy the coils or if it is possible to actually build their own. Essentially, the answer is that you can build your coils on your own and it isn’t difficult if you are patient and have the right tools.
Tools You Need
The three tools that you need to build your vaporizer coils are the RDA, wire, and the wick. For those who are unaware, RDA stands for Rebuildable Dripping Atomizer. For most people, choosing the right RDA can be a challenge since there are so many out there. In general, the higher quality RDA’s run at about $20 and the medium quality runs at $12. Therefore, when choosing one, look at the price and decide which works best for you. Once you find the right RDA and you have your wire and wick ready, you can start building your vaporizer.
Creating the Coil
The first thing that you need to do is to make sure that you have enough coil prepared. When you wrap the coil around the wick, the coils themselves need to cough each other gently. If you make it too tight, you’ll ruin the final product. The wrap should occur at about eight revolutions and if you see a few gaps between the coils that are slightly pronounced, that is ok. Also, keep in mind that if you don’t have a wick available, then you can also use a drill bit. The drill bit would need to be about 1/16 an inch.
Checking the Coil
Once you’ve created your coil, you’ll need to check your OHMS. The 1/16 drill bit will ensure that you meet the 1 OHM standard, which is where you want to be at. As you compress the coil into the vaporizer, add pressure very lightly. Once heated, the coil should glow a bit and be slightly springy. If you’re at this point, then you’ve done things right. The last step in the entire process is to enjoy your next vaping experience because you’ve just created your first coil.
